Fantasy Football
The English Premier League 2010/11 gets underway this weekend, and over at the William Hill sportsbook site sports betting enthusiasts can try their hand at winning some huge cash prizes in a very impressive Fantasy Football game. Taking part in the Fantasy Football competition doesn’t cost a penny, but anyone who wants to participate will need to do so quickly before the first matches of the new season kick off. Even those who have never placed a bet with William Hill sportsbook are invited to have a go, so read on and we’ll tell you how…
First, you need to have an account with William Hill sportsbook, so if you don’t already have one you will need to register your details and rectify that situation. That done, visit the Fantasy Football pages at the William Hill website and start by selecting your fantasy team of 11 players. You have an imaginary budget of £55 million with which to purchase your players and you can select no more than two players from the same non-fantasy club for your team.
You can either select two full-backs, two centre-backs, four midfielders, two strikers and one goalkeeper for a 4-4-2 formation, or you can select two full-backs, three centre-backs, three midfielders, two strikers and one goalkeeper for a 5-3-2 formation, as you prefer.
When you have selected your fantasy football team you will score points according to how your chosen players perform in real life over the course of the 2010/11 season. Points are awarded to attacking players who score goals or assist in the scoring of goals, and to defensive players who keep a clean sheer and/or make an appearance. That said, points will be dropped if your team concedes a goal. A full explanation of the scoring system can be found at the William Hill sportsbook site.
You can make up to 25 transfers over the course of the season (and as many as you like before the season begins) as long as you don’t use more than 5 transfers in any given month. You must also remain within your £55 million budget and make sure that your team has a 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 formation. The ability to transfer players to and from your team as the season unfolds allows you to adjust your team according to how players are performing in real life, and ensures that you always have a role to play as a fantasy football manager.
When the season ends, the 25 fantasy football team managers that have performed the best will win a prize. And, as if that wasn’t enough, the top manager every month will win a £100 free bet. Overall, the combined value of prizes totals £10,000, so there is everything to play for.
Visit the William Hill sportsbook today to take a look at the prizes that will be won and to register your own Fantasy Football team. With the right combination of skill and luck your fantasy football season could be impressively profitable!
