F1 2009
The F1 2009 season promises plenty of sports betting action for everyone in what could well be the most intriguing season for years. A revision of Formula 1 regulations introduced to cut costs will create a lot more opportunities for overtaking than in previous seasons, and that means F1 2009 will be packed with the kind of old-school racing excitement that we haven’t really seen for quite a few years.
Lewis Hamilton will obviously be a popular driver in F1 betting markets (2009 is his third season with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes) but Jenson Button will also be attracting a fair amount of attention as he drives for the new Brawn GP team that has effectively replaced the Honda Racing F1 team.
The F1 2009 season comprises seventeen Grand Prix races. The first is the ING Australian Grand Prix that takes place in Melbourne on 29 March, 2009. The last race of the F1 2009 season is the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which takes place on 01 November, 2009 in Abu Dhabi. Along the way we can also look forward to the Santander British Grand Prix on 21 June, 2009 at Silverstone and the Telefónica Grand Prix of Europe on 23 August, 2009 at Valencia.
Individuals interested in motor racing betting will find plenty of betting markets to accommodate their needs. As well as being able to bet on the outright F1 2009 season winner (whether driver or constructor) you can also bet on the outcome of individual Grand Prix races. Paddy Power also have a nice range of season match betting markets that allow you to predict which of two drivers will fare best over the season as a whole. Fancy Lewis Hamilton to have a better season than Heikki Kovalainen? Or Jenson Button to fare better than Rubens Barrichello? You can bet on either of those outcomes, and many more.
Although some F1 racing fans might disagree with the revised regulations that have been introduced to make the sport more cost effective, there is no doubt that the F1 2009 season will be particularly exciting as a result. Good luck with your F1 betting and we hope you manage to pick a few winners!
