Cheltenham Festival 2010 Betting
The 2010 Cheltenham Festival takes place next week (16-19 March) at the Cheltenham Festival racecourse and the Ante Post betting market action is really heating up. Whether you’re a sports betting fan who is only interested in the big feature races such as the Cheltenham Gold Cup, or a serious horse racing enthusiast who intends to take a betting interest in all of the festival races, it makes sense to take a look at the prices currently available – and maybe grab yourself the odds that you think offer you the best value for money.
The Paddy Power sports betting site is always a good first port of call for odds on major sporting events (and most minor ones, come to that) and you will find prices available there for all of the Cheltenham Festival races on a special Cheltenham Betting page. The odds about the horses involved will of course change as the event itself draws closer, but we can present a quick snapshot of the market leaders as they stand right now in some of the most popular races:
The market for the Champion Hurdle on Tuesday is headed by Go Native at odds of 3/1, with Solwhit the 5/1 second favourite. Punjabi and Medermit are joint third favourites at 7/1, whilst Binocular, Zaynar and Khyber Kim are close behind at 8/1. All other runners are available at odds of 12/1 or bigger.
The Queen Mother Champion Chase takes place on Wednesday, and the very hot favourite here is Master Minded at 5/6. Kalari King is second favourite at 9/2 and Twist Magic is the 7/1 third favourite. Forpadydeplasterer and Big Zeb complete the leading quintet at 8/1 and 9/1 respectively, and it is currently 20/1 bar those.
The World Hurdle on Thursday has another hot favourite in the shape of Big Bucks at 8/13. Karaback and Tidal Bay come next at 6/1 and 7/1, and Sentry Duty at 14/1 is the only other horse priced below 20/1. That means there is plenty of good value to be had if you think that Big Bucks is a tad too short.
The Cheltenham Gold Cup on Friday has Kauto Star installed as the 8/11 favourite, with Denman the clear second favourite at 7/2. Cooldine and Imperial Commander are joint third favourites at 10/1, and all other runners are priced at 20/1 or bigger.
Other bookmakers will obviously have slightly different prices, and as mentioned previous Paddy Power’s own prices will change as market forces continue to work their magic. Our advice is to identify the horses that you want to bet on and then visit several sportsbooks to compare prices, but don’t overlook the value offered by special Cheltenham Festival 2010 betting deals. For example, Paddy Power will be offering guaranteed prices, money-back specials, extra-place specials and more. You will even be able to watch races live online!
Visit the Paddy Power sportsbook today to take a closer look at the Cheltenham Betting opportunities, then brace yourself for three days of superb horse racing action next week!
