Brazilian Grand Prix 2010 Betting
The Brazilian Grand Prix is the penultimate race of the 2010 Formula 1 racing season, and although Fernando Alonso currently enjoys an 11 point lead over his closest Drivers Championship rival, it is still technically possible for a handful of drivers to steal his glory in the closing stages. The Brazilian Grand race takes place in Sao Paulo this Sunday 07 November, and the William Hill sportsbook has plenty of markets for sports betting to explore as the F1 season continues speeding towards what looks sets to be a thrilling finish.
As always, we will start by looking at the market for the winner of the Drivers Championship title. With his 231 points giving him an 11 point advantage, it isn’t surprising to see Fernando Alonso installed as the clear favourite at odds of 8/13. Mark Webber is on 220 points and is second favourite at 11/5. Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Jenson Button are on 210, 206 and 189 points respectively, and the odds available about them reflect those standings with 10/1 available for Lewis, 14/1 for Vettel and 200/1 for Button.
Looking at the Brazilian Grand Prix itself, Webber and Vettel are the current joint favourites to win the race, at odds of 9/4. Alonso is third favourite at 7/2 and Lewis Hamilton is next at 9/2. You can get odds of 16/1 for Jenson Button and Felipe Massa, and 28/1 or better for the other drivers on the grid. Naturally, all of these odds could – and probably will – change after the first practice session on Friday.
Predicting F1 retirements is something that many sports betting fans like to do, and William Hill has a couple of markets that will be of interest in this respect. You can bet on the First Constructor Retirement (HRT is the 7/2 favourite with Virgin and Lotus the joint 4/1 favourites) and also on the First Retirement of Race (Bruno Senna is favourite at 7/1 with Lucas di Grassi and Sakon Yamamoto next at 8/1 and 9/1 respectively). If you want to bet on how many retirements there will be during the first lap of the Brazilian Grand Prix you will get odds of 4/6 for 0, 3/1 for 1, 11/2 for 2, 17/2 for 3 and 10/1 for 4 or more.
When the Brazilian Grand Prix is finished and the chequered flag has been packed away there will be just one more Grand Prix race of the season left, and that will be held in Abu Dhabi on Sunday 14 November. This makes the Brazilian Grand Prix well worth looking at if you want to maximise your remaining 2010 F1 betting opportunities. Visit the William Hill sportsbook to explore the markets available, enjoy the race on Sunday and good luck!
