Bookies licking their wounds
After Long Run’s disappointing second to Kauto Star in the Betfair Chase on Saturday, trainer Nicky Henderson has today left the bookies licking their wounds with all seven of his runners entered around the country going on to win. Victor Chandler were left stunned by the results and with one of their customers placing a £100 accumulator on all seven of the Henderson runners with the exception of Whoops A Daisy, the Gibraltar based bookmaker were lost for words.
VC spokesperson Charlie McCann said: "It would be fair to say that the language was slightly stronger than Whoops A Daisy when Mossley became the final winner in the trainer's seven-timer. One of our customers' had £100 accas with and without Whoops a Daisy. The seven-fold paid just over 100/1. Bob Geldof is not alone with his thoughts about Monday's."
The seven winners were spread across the country with Kempton providing four winners, Ludlow two and Ffos Las one.
The seven-timer paid a fraction over 66/1 on the official SP but the true benefit of taking advantage of an early price is demonstrated with Victor Chandler’s early prices on the seven horses.
Anybody who placed the accumulator with VC would have got a return of £158.40 - £90.52 more than the official SP paid!
