2010 US PGA Championship Betting

92nd US PGA Championship BettingThe 2010 US PGA Championship tees off in just three weeks time, and sports betting enthusiasts can already place bets on the players that they expect to do well in the tournament as a whole. The 92nd US PGA Championship takes place at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin, and the first ball of the competition will be struck on Thursday 12 August. Although Tiger Woods hasn’t been in quite as good form as he would have hoped in his last few outings, most bookmakers still make him the early favourite for the prestigious golf tournament.

The Outright Betting market at Paddy Power has Tiger Woods installed as the 6/1 favourite, with Phil Mickelson the 9/1 second favourite. Lee Westwood is third in the betting at 14/1 and Rory McIlroy comes next at 18/1. Everyone else is currently being offered at 25/1 or bigger but with almost five dozen players in contention, double figure-odds shouldn’t put you off too much. In fact, when you consider that Paddy Power is offering 1/4 the odds on each way bets for the first five places, betting on a few big priced players each way could be just as potentially profitable as betting on Tiger Woods to win.

The William Hill sportsbook have Tiger Woods as an even firmer favourite at odds of 9/2, with Mickelson, Westwood and McIlroy following at odds of 7/1, 14/1 and 16/1 respectively. William Hill also have other US PGA Championship betting markets available which are well worth taking a look at. One of them allows you to bet on whether you think there will be a European winner this year, and you can get odds of 6/4 if you believe that to be the case. Another allows you to bet on the Margin of Victory, and Hills seem to think that it will be quite narrow with a Play Off at 12/5, 1 Shot at 5/2, 2 Shots at 7/2, 3 Shots at 9/2 and 4 Shots or More at 10/3.

Outright betting markets for the 92nd US PGA Championship are also available at Victor Chandler, Bet365 and Ladbrokes, so do shop around if you want to secure the very best odds on your selected golfers. As always, the odds available can change at any time, so if you find odds that you like it makes sense to strike your bet quickly before they disappear. Good luck!
